But very little goes into connecting the two — translating what researchers find into something practitioners can actually use.
That's the gap. The research exists. The people doing the work exist. What's missing is the infrastructure between them.
Openbrook is building that infrastructure: we synthesize the best research on student wellness and education and make it freely available through an open API that any school, program, or platform can plug into. Think Wikipedia, but for the question: what actually works for kids?
Our work already powers instructional materials and student services in over 1,000 schools. We aim to have a presence in every school and youth-based organization in the country, and eventually, globally.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Every dollar goes directly toward research synthesis, open-source development, and expanding access. We have a small, passionate, technical team building something the field has needed for a long time.
